Five Local Police Officers To Go On Trial For Drug Trafficking

According to reports in the press five Local Police officers from Mijas and another man will go on trial this week on charges of drug trafficking.
It is understood the officers were arrested by the Guardia Civil in November 2009 after it was found they were  transporting 12.6 kilos of hashish in a patrol car in Las Lagunas
It is reported the officers were in uniform at the time of their arrest. A further 162 kilos were found  during searches of the homes of the accused
The prosecutor requested in its provisional findings sentences totaling 34 years in prison.
