Rise In Air Passenger Duty In UK Could Affect British Passenger Numbers

,
40% of international flights into Malaga comes from the UK

There is concern among airlines and airports that the increase in Air Passenger Duty by the British Government which is due to come into force in April 2013 will mean a fall in passenger numbers
The APD rate which rose by 8% last April is set to increase by a further 2.5% is payable by all international air passengers.
The concern is that currently 40% of all traffic to Malaga comes from UK airports and some airlines are warning that some routes could be eliminated
Some experts estimate the rise could cause a 5% fall in passenger numbers from the UK
