Nine Injured By Drunk Driver Who Drove Wrong Way Down Highway

The drunk driver has been detained by the Guardia Civil

Nine people including children were injured after the vehicles they were traveling in were hit by a drunk driver who was traveling the wrong way along the highway near Benalmadena
The accident occurred on the 24th at around 21.40 . It appears the driver left a service station on the A-7 in a Mercedes van and started to drive towards Cadiz but on the Malaga bound carriageway.
At KM 224 the van collided with a Ford Focus, and a Opel Astra.
Two children under 6 years old who were in the Ford Focus were seriously injured were transferred to the hospital Materno Infantil in Malaga and it is understood the remain in a stable by serious condition
There were also three adults in the Ford Focus who sustained minor injures
In the Opel there were three Dutch adults and one Dutch child who were also slightly injured with two of them been taken to the hospital Clínico
The driver of the van who has been identified as a 23 year old Romanian National was unhurt.
They driver has been arrested by the Guardia Civil
