Spanish Football Players Take Strike Action

The first round of matches has been postponned 

According to reports in the press the start of the Spanish football season is to be delayed after players in Spain's top two divisions decided to strike on the first day of the season

It is reported that todays negotiations with clubs on wage guarantees collapsed.

It is reported that a demand that players who are not paid for three consecutive months should be allowed to break their contracts has been issued by the The Association of Spanish Footballers (AFE)

According to the reports around 200 players in the top two divisions have not been fully paid and around 50 million euros in wages is owed to players

Malaga were sceduled to be playing efending champions Barcelona at Home

Reports say that talks to save the next round of matches are continuing 

However the strike will not affect teams involved in European competitions.
